The Latte That Feels Like a Warm Blanket on Your Tummy

Stress can be caused by a variety of different things- an unhealthy environment, eating garbage food, not drinking enough water, running from a predator… Since it’s part of the human condition, stress is something we all have to deal with. Sometimes it can be good (getting you away from the aforementioned predator), but it usually just keeps us from feeling our best.

If you can’t eliminate the root of your stress, the next best thing you can do is manage the neg side effects. Namely, inflammation.

Inflammation is a decidedly unsexy word, and an even unsexier feeling. Luckily, there exists a spice that combats inflammation pretttttty pretty well. It’s called turmeric, and if you’ve ever had Indian food, you’ve probably eaten it before. Turmeric is widely revered for its anti-inflammatory properties, and some people take it in capsules daily to treat conditions such as arthritis.

But because I’m a person who would rather eat food than take supplements, I’ve taken a liking to making turmeric lattes at home. It only takes two minutes, and it makes my tummy feel like it’s wrapped in a warm blanket. Here’s my method.

You need:

  • Almond milk
  • Turmeric
  • A packet of stevia
  • Himalayan pink sea salt to taste

Now,

  • Put your almond milk in a mug, then microwave it for 90 seconds.
  • Add turmeric until you have a good layer. Add the packet of stevia and salt to taste.
  • Stir until all is dissolved. It should be sufficiently yellow.

Enjoy and reeeelaaaaaxxxxxx. Face mask and a good book optional.

Do you have a favorite way to use turmeric?
